Description
A classic chocolate sheet cake topped with fudge icing, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients

- 1 cup water
- 1 cup butter
- 4 Tbsp cocoa
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup butter
- 4 Tbsp cocoa
- 1/4 cup buttermilk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 cup coconut flakes
Instructions
- Bring the first three ingredients to a boil.
- In a bowl combine the dry ingredients (sugar, flour, soda, and salt). Mix in the hot cocoa mixture.
- Then add the buttermilk, vanilla, and eggs and beat well.
- Pour batter into a greased sheet pan and bake at 325°F for 25-30 minutes.
- In a small saucepan bring all the fudge icing ingredients to a boil and pour over cooled cake.
- Let cake set in the fridge until icing stiffens. Cut into squares before serving.

- This cake is rich and moist, ideal for large gatherings.
