- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon sweet paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Dry the chicken breasts with paper towels, ensuring they are completely moisture-free to achieve a perfect sear.
- On a cutting board, gently pound the thick end of the chicken breasts with the palm of your hand until evenly thick.
- In a small bowl, combine the Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Sprinkle the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the chicken.
- In a large pan over medium-high heat, add the olive oil. Allow it to get hot, shimmering slightly before adding chicken.
- Add the chicken to the pan, cooking for 3-4 minutes until the bottom side is dark golden brown.
- Turn the heat down to medium and flip the chicken. Continue to cook for another 6-8 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Once cooked, let the chicken rest for a few minutes to retain its juices before slicing.
