Description

A delicious and easy-to-make Korean Ground Beef Bowl that features savory ground beef, fluffy rice, and fresh vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 3 cups cooked white rice
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 cup shredded carrots (optional)
  • 1 cup steamed broccoli (optional)
  • 1 cucumber, sliced (optional)
  • 1 fried egg (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the rice – Start by cooking your rice according to package instructions. Fresh, fluffy rice is the base of a great Korean Ground Beef Bowl, and its mild flavor perfectly balances the bold sauce.
  2. Brown the beef – Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until fully browned, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks. Drain excess grease if needed.
  3. Add garlic and seasoning – Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Then add soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
  4. Simmer the sauce – Let the mixture simmer for 2–3 minutes. This allows the flavors to blend and the sauce to slightly thicken.
  5. Assemble the bowls – Scoop warm rice into serving bowls. Spoon the flavorful beef mixture over the top. Add sliced green onions, sesame seeds, and any vegetables you like. Serve immediately and enjoy your homemade Korean Ground Beef Bowl.
